Maruti Suzuki Brezza 2022 bookings now open. Check details here

Maruti Suzuki on Monday announced the opening of bookings for the latest edition Brezza 2022 compact SUV at INR 11,000. First launched in the Indian auto market in February 2016, Brezza 2022 has been a huge hit and is often credited as the model that really started popularizing small SUVs in the country. The latest Brezza 2022 will renew its intense rivalry against a long lineup of modes including Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and even Nissan Magnite and Renault Kiger.

Maruti Brezza 2022 has been resounding success here that over seven lakh models have been sold in about seven years since its initial launch. And this is despite the fact that the Brezza was initially sold only with a diesel engine option and is now offered with a petrol engine only at a time when many competitors cater to both groups of customers. Moving forward, Maruti Suzuki is banking on Brezza's big updates to push it forward.

The 2022 Brezza will receive several updates to its exterior profile, with spy photos revealing a more elegant front grille with redesigned LED headlight units with DRL. The alloy design has also been revamped and there appear to be more distinct character lines on the model's body. The most interesting thing about all these updates is that the Brezza will now be the first Maruti Suzuki model to offer a sunroof.

Inside, the latest Brezza model will show off a new look to the dashboard, an updated 9-inch main infotainment screen, and a host of other tech features like wireless charging, a 360-degree camera, HUD, ambient lighting, and seats.

There is no changes to the dimensions of the new Brezza and as such the model will provide the same amount of room for passengers in the car, while the boot space remains 328 litres.

As far as technical specifications are concerned, the new Brezza will have a 1.5-liter K15B-series petrol engine that will be paired with either a five-speed manual gearbox or a six-speed torque converter unit. This is the same engine that also powers the Ertiga and XL6, although the tuning may be slightly different to help the Brezza achieve better mileage. The current model's claimed mileage is 17.03 kmpl on the MT and 18.76 kmpl on the AT.
