Mahindra Tractors Achieve Record Sales of 4,24,641 Units in FY25

Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) has reached a new milestone, recording its highest-ever tractor sales in a financial year. In FY25, the company sold 4,24,641 tractors in the Indian market, marking a 12% growth compared to 3,78,386 units in FY24. This surge highlights Mahindra’s dominance in the Indian tractor industry, fueled by strong domestic demand and favorable agricultural conditions.

  • Mahindra Tractors' FY25 sales reached 4,24,641 units, a 12% growth from FY24.

  • March 2025 saw a 34% increase in domestic sales, with 32,582 units sold.

  • Total tractor sales (including exports) stood at 34,934 units in March 2025.

  • The company attributes success to a strong Rabi crop outlook and improved farmer economics.

March 2025: A Strong Finish to the Year

March 2025 turned out to be an exceptional month for Mahindra Tractors. The company reported a 34% surge in domestic sales, selling 32,582 tractors, compared to the same period last year.

Additionally, exports played a crucial role in boosting total sales. Tractor exports reached 2,352 units in March 2025, contributing to an overall total sales figure of 34,934 units, significantly higher than 26,024 units in March 2024.

Factors Driving Growth

Mahindra attributes this impressive growth to several key factors:

  • Favorable weather conditions: Good monsoon and strong water reservoir levels supported higher agricultural productivity.

  • Strong Rabi outlook: The ongoing Rabi harvest is progressing smoothly, leading to higher demand for tractors.

  • Better farm economics: Increased cash flow in farmers' hands due to good crop yields and government support.

  • Festive season sales boost: The last week of March witnessed increased tractor deliveries, driven by seasonal festivities.

What’s Ahead for FY26?

Looking forward, Mahindra expects the positive sales momentum to continue in Q1 FY26. With the Rabi harvest in full swing and improved liquidity for farmers, the demand for tractors is likely to remain strong.

Hemant Sikka, President of the Farm Equipment Sector at Mahindra & Mahindra, expressed confidence in sustained growth, stating,
"The harvest season has commenced in northern India and will progress smoothly across the country. We expect continued strong demand in the coming months, driven by improved farmer earnings and a very good Rabi harvest."

Conclusion

Mahindra Tractors' record-breaking sales in FY25 highlight the company's stronghold in India's agricultural machinery sector. With favorable agricultural trends and increasing mechanization, Mahindra is well-positioned to maintain its leadership in the tractor industry, driving further growth in the upcoming fiscal year.
