Jeep India has introduced the Meridian X and Upland special editions for the 2023 model year, with prices ranging from Rs 33.41 lakh to Rs 38.47 lakh for the top-spec variant. The final cost will be determined by the buyer's choice of accessories. All prices mentioned are ex-showroom India.
The Meridian X and Upland special editions, which will be produced in limited numbers, will receive styling enhancements and equipment upgrades based on customer request. Two new color options, Silvery Moon and Galaxy Blue, will also be available on these special edition models.
Speaking on the design front, the Jeep Meridian X and Upland special editions cater to different types of customers when it comes to styling. Meridian X is aimed at the urban clientele with an emphasis on lifestyle. The Special Edition trim features body-color lowers, a gray roof, alloy wheels with gray pockets, side moldings, puddle lights, and ambient lighting as additional exterior enhancements.
On the other hand, the Jeep Meridian Upland Special Edition is aimed at customers who prefer outdoor adventures. It comes with roof racks, side steps, splash guards, boot organizer, sun shades, cargo mats, tire inflator, and a custom-designed hood decal. Jeep Meridian special editions also come with a rear entertainment package that includes an 11.6-inch Wi-Fi-enabled display. The content displayed on the screens will be available for purchase at a 50 percent discount.
Commenting on the launch, Nippon J. Mahajan, Jeep India Brand Director, said: "We are very excited to launch the special edition Jeep Meridian which highlights the duality of SUVs in a premium design. We are bringing the Jeep Meridian to another level with the new Special Editions, adding a distinctive look that stands out on the road as well as on the street. The additional equipment makes these special editions unique and attractive to a broader customer base."
Powertrain options for the Meridian X and Upland special editions remain unchanged. The former is available with a 2.0-liter diesel engine mated to a 6-speed manual or 9-speed automatic transmission. Limited and Limited (O) models are available with both transmission options, with top trims featuring all-wheel drive. According to Jeep, the SUV can reach speeds of 198 kilometers per hour and go from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in 10.8 seconds.
Jeep India customers will benefit from a three-year comprehensive warranty, express service packages that start in just 90 minutes, as well as Jeep Courtesy Edge and customer contract programs for the ultimate ownership experience. The dealerships are now accepting bookings for the recently launched Jeep Meridian X and Upland special editions.
