Classic Legends will release the new special edition Jawa 42 Tawang soon. Classic Legends co-founder Anupam Thariya shared a video on Twitter announcing the new special edition Jawa specially designed for the Tawang Festival. The new Jawa 42 Tawang Edition will be limited to just 100 units and will only be available to customers in Arunachal Pradesh. The new Special Edition is inspired by the mythical Lungta, or wind horse.
Anupam tweeted: "Excited to share this special Jawa for the #Tawangfestival, inspired by the legendary Lungta or wind horse. Only 100 of these will start production, especially for #Arunachal bikers. I look forward to riding with you guys soon!" Arunachal Ministers Bima Kandu and Anand Mahindra, chairman of the Mahindra Group in the tweet.
The teaser video shows the Jawa 42 in matte black with a wind horse graphic on the fenders. There is also a special engraving on the fenders and side panels, as well as on the fuel tank. Each of the 100 special edition motorcycles will feature a unique commemorative bronze medal.
Aside from the visual changes, the Jawa 42 Tawang Edition will likely have the same mechanics. Power comes from the liquid-cooled, 294cc single-cylinder engine, which develops 27bhp at around 6,800rpm and 26.84Nm at 5,000rpm. It is equipped with a six-speed gearbox. The 42 benefits from alloy wheels along with side mirrors, windshield and headlight grille. The Jawa 42 Tawang edition is likely to command a premium over the standard edition which retails for Rs. 1.91 lakh (ex-showroom).
