Hyundai Venue iMT : Pricing and details
rnThe Hyundai Venue iMT was announced a few weeks ago, and is only available with a 1.0-liter, direct-injection, 120-hp turbo petrol engine. Prices start from Rs 9.99 (ex- showroom) for the entry level SX variant, and reach Rs 11.21 for the SX (O) with the new Sport package.rnrn rnrn rnrnrn Hyundai Venue iMTrnrn
rnrnBut what is iMT? It is a "two-wheel-less clutch system", a combination of manual and automatic gearbox configurations. In this system, the driver still has to change gear manually, just as he would in a traditional manual gearbox, but without the need for a clutch pedal. According to Hyundai, iMT gearbox technology uses an "intention sensor" with the gear stick, which informs the transmission control unit (TCU) when the driver is about to shift gears. The TCU then points to a hydraulic actuator to engage and disconnect the clutch plate while the driver is shifting.rnrnrn Hyundai Venue iMTrnrnrn
rnThe 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine is now available at Venue with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT, making iMT the third transmission option for this engine in a compact SUV.rnHyundai Venue Sport package: pricing and details
rnWith the introduction of iMT, Hyundai also added a cosmetic package to the India line of the Venue SUV. The Hyundai Venue Sport range will be available in SX, SX + and SX (O) variants equipped with a 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine or a 1.5-liter diesel engine. The sports package adds new dual-color exterior color options, a glossy black grille with red inserts, dark gray roof rails, and absorbent front bumper edges, as well as red brake calipers and other red accents on the exterior.rnrnrn Hyundai Venue iMTrnrnrn
rnInside, there's a whole new steering wheel with red stitching for the Venue Sport collection, similar to Cretan, dark gray furniture with red tubes, and lots of red accents around the cabin. The DCT versions of Venue 1.0 Turbo are also receiving paddle changers now. Hyundai Venue Sport prices start from Rs 10.20 Lakh for SX Sport 1.0 Turbo iMT, and up to Rs 11.58 Lakh (ex-showroom) for SX + Sport 1.0 Turbo DCT.rnrnrn Hyundai Venue iMTrnrn
rn rnWhile this may not be the first example of iMT in the world, or even the first in India, it is the first in this segment. Interestingly, Kia has announced for the first time that it would bring this technology with the compact SUV, which will debut worldwide on August 7, 2020. However, with the launch of Venue iMT, Hyundai outperformed its sister brand in the market.rnrnRead More: Best Cars with Price in India Under 20 Lakh I Checkout
Additionally, Hyundai has added a new S + variant exclusively to Venue's 1.2-liter main petrol engine, which comes with just a 5-speed manual gearbox, adding more gear to the entry-level model otherwise.
