Honda Africa-Twin based NT1100 touring bike revealed - Autonexa

Honda has finally unveiled their new big touring motorcycle: NT1100. This tourer is based on the famous Africa Twin and yes, it does look a bit radical.

Honda says this bike is for riders who want the comfort, practicality, and performance of a mode
adventure bike, but don't want the intimidating nature of it as well as the cost. Therefore, there is a market for such bikes as they tend to offer bang for their bucks along with lots of pillion comfort.

The N1100 has a large body that makes the bike look big and extremely enticing. The sharp fascia, large adjustable windshield, and aerodynamic styling make the NT1100 look really good.

The NT1100 gets its power from the 1084cc parallel twin from the Africa Twin. New intakes and exhausts are new. As a result, the bike produces 100.5 horsepower at 7250 rpm and the torque number remains unchanged. This Honda is built around a steel frame and aluminum subframe from AT. But the suspension travel is well below 150mm and the bike rides on 17-inch wheels. This has got down the seat height to 820mm, making it quite accessible to the masses.

The bike borrows most of the electronics from AT. Things like ABS when cornering, lean-sensitive traction control, and wheel control can be seen on the NT1100. Multiple driving modes are also standard. The 6.5 inch TFT instrument screen looks lovely and is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Display options are also customizable.

The Honda NT1100 is likely to come to India next year, but expect it to come at a price that might make it unreasonable. It costs about Rs 12.38 lakh in the UK.
