Citroën C3 Sport Edition Launched in India at ₹6.44 Lakh

Citroën India has introduced the Citroën C3 Sport Edition, a limited edition of its popular hatchback, to attract buyers interested in style, exclusivity, and performance. With a price tag of ₹6.44 lakh (ex-showroom), the special edition offers a bit more visual pizzazz and driving appeal, making it a strong contender in the entry-level hatchback segment.

A Fresh Look with Sporty Highlights

The Citroën C3 Sport Edition brings a number of cosmetic upgrades that clearly set it apart from the standard variants. Most notably, it debuts a new and exclusive Garnet Red paint scheme — a first for the C3 range. Complementing the vibrant shade are racing-inspired graphics, ‘Sport’ decals, and dynamic body stripes that enhance its road presence.

  • Exclusive Garnet Red exterior

  • Sport-themed decals and racing stripes

  • Limited production run for added exclusivity

These changes collectively make the hatchback appear more athletic and refined, reflecting the Sport Edition’s unique character.

Interior Enhancements

While the cabin layout remains largely the same, Citroën has added subtle touches to reflect the sportier theme of this limited edition. The interior benefits from:

  • Ambient cabin lighting for a premium atmosphere

  • Metal-finished sporty pedals for a performance-oriented vibe

  • Custom seat covers, carpet mats, and seatbelt cushions with a sporty design

These additions enhance comfort without compromising the practicality that the C3 is known for.

Optional Tech Kit

To meet the needs of tech-savvy buyers, Citroën is offering an optional Tech Kit with the Sport Edition, priced at ₹15,000. This package includes:

  • A wireless smartphone charger

  • A dashcam for added safety and convenience

These features can be particularly attractive to urban commuters and young drivers who value connectivity and safety.

Powertrain Options: Punchy and Versatile

The Citroën C3 Sport Edition is available with two petrol engine options, providing flexibility based on your performance preference:

  • 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine

    • Power: 81bhp

    • Torque: 115Nm

    • Transmission: Manual

  • 1.2-litre turbocharged PureTech petrol engine

    • Power: 110bhp

    • Torque: 205Nm

    • Transmission: 6-speed manual or 6-speed torque converter automatic

The turbo-petrol engine, in particular, offers best-in-segment performance, delivering a spirited drive both in the city and on the highway.

How It Compares

Although the Citroën C3 Sport Edition is priced at ₹21,000 over the regular variants, the extra styling, exclusive features and the limited availability give strong value for buyers seeking a bit of differentiation. The new edition is among competitors, such as Tata Tiago, Maruti Suzuki Swift, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, although it has a very European flavor added to the segment.

Final Thoughts

Citroën is entering uncharted territory with the launch of the Citroën C3 Sport Edition, appealing to a different group of style-conscious consumers aged 20 to 30, who want their cars to be different. While it is mechanically equipped exactly like the regular C3, the limited-edition design, the enhanced interiors, tech upgrades and therefore positioning the C3 Sport Edition as more than just a cosmetic upgrade — is a bold move towards expanding the appeal of the Citroën brand in India.
