In the BS6 model, Toyota Innova Crysta leaves a 2.8-liter diesel engine; prices have risen by Rs. 31,000-1.3 lakh.
As we reported exclusively last week, Toyota opened reservations and revealed prices for the Toyota Innova Crysta BS6, with prices starting from Rs. 15.36 lakh for the basic gasoline model and Rs. 16.14 Lakh for the entry-level diesel model.
Innova Crysta has long been a pillar of Toyota alignment in India, and the shift to BS6 engines has greatly increased the price. While the price of BS6 Innova Crysta gasoline anywhere ranges from Rs. 31,000 to Rs. 63,000 depending on the alte
ative, the prices of the Innova Crysta diesel are Rs. 59,000, up to a maximum of Rs. 1.3 lakh, for the Variant medium VX specifications. Innova Crystal Touring Sport, meanwhile, is more expensive than Rs 41,000 Rs 1 lakh. It should also be noted that these prices have described Toyota as "introductory", so it is almost certainly a further increase in the future.
Toyota has chosen to offer the BS6 Innova Crysta with only one diesel engine - the 2.4-liter unit, which has been updated to comply with BS6 standards with the help of a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and a diesel particulate filter (DPF). The 174-hp, 2.8-liter diesel - which was only available with an automatic gearbox - is not part of the Innova range now in order to keep prices under control. Toyota also didn't share the updated power numbers of the BS6 Innova Crysta, but you should update this story with the numbers as soon as we have it.
The rest of the Innova package has not changed. There are no other cosmetic or mechanical changes in the MPV, and the only noticeable difference is the 2.4-liter diesel engine, which previously could only have been used with a five-speed manual gearbox, and now also comes with the six-speed automatic gearbox option.
