BMW India Achieves Record-Breaking Car Sales in Q3 2025

BMW Group India has posted its highest-ever car sales in the first nine months of 2025, selling 11,978 cars and 3,976 motorcycles between January and September. This significant milestone marks a 13% year-on-year growth over the same period last year.

The third quarter (July-September) was especially noteworthy as BMW Group India recorded its best-ever Q3 sales, with 4,204 cars sold, reflecting a 21% increase year-on-year.

The company credits this success to the new GST pricing and the intense festive season driving stronger consumer demand in the luxury segment.

Insights from BMW India’s CEO

Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO, BMW Group India, stated:
"BMW Group India has continuously succeeded in attaining high growth throughout 2025. The highest-ever sales in the first nine months as well as the third quarter reflect our unparalleled focus on customer centricity."

He highlighted that a strong product portfolio, excellent aftersales services, personalized engagements, and attractive financial offers have fueled this demand. The healthy order book indicates confidence in closing the year with record-breaking sales.

Electrifying Growth in the Luxury EV Segment

BMW reinforced its position as India’s top luxury EV brand with impressive sales milestones.

  • EVs sold (Jan–Sep 2025): 2,509 units (BMW + MINI)
  • EV growth: 246% year-on-year
  • EV share: 21% of total BMW sales
  • Top-selling EVs: BMW iX1 followed by BMW i7

BMW’s EV range includes six cars and two scooters: i7, iX, i5, i4, iX1 Long Wheelbase, MINI Countryman E, CE 04, and CE 02, supported by a national charging network in 51 cities.

Surge in Long Wheelbase Models

The long wheelbase (LWB) lineup—including the 7 Series, 5 Series, 3 Series, and iX1—has experienced exceptional traction in India.

  • LWB sales growth: 169% year-on-year
  • Total LWB units sold: 5,720
  • Model contribution: 50% of BMW’s total car sales
  • Top-selling sedan: BMW 3 Series (16% share in overall sales)

These models highlight BMW’s appeal among buyers seeking rear-seat comfort, luxury, and technology, redefining the mid-to-premium luxury segment.

BMW Motorrad Motorcycle Sales

BMW Motorrad recorded sales of 3,976 motorcycles from January to September 2025, with the BMW G 310 RR being the most popular model in the smart-cc category. Among bigger highway bikes, the BMW 1300 GS and GSA were the top sellers.

Conclusion

BMW Group India’s record-breaking sales figures in Q3 2025 demonstrate a successful strategy focused on innovative products, expanding EV offerings, and customer-centric services. The robust growth reflects the increasing demand in India's luxury automotive market, with BMW set to further strengthen its leadership by year-end.
