▼The BMW 7 Series and i7 Facelifts will officially land in Indian showrooms on September 11, bringing both petrol, diesel, and electric variants together. Pre-launch bookings opened on August 1 across all authorized dealerships. This update brings a reworked exterior design, an ultra-modern interior with massive digital displays, and stronger engine options alongside a bigger battery for the electric i7.
Bold Exterior Redesign
The updated flagship sedan gets a fresh look that makes it stand out immediately. Up front, the iconic kidney grille now features contour illumination as standard. The headlights move to a split lighting layout where thin upper DRL strips sit above compact lower main beam units hidden near the air vents.
At the back, BMW tweaked the tail lamps with slimmer LED profiles, subtle chrome touches, and smoked glass. The tailgate release button, rear view camera, and washer nozzle are all hidden away out of sight to give the rear bumper a much cleaner look.
Modern Tech and Cabin Features
Step inside, and you will notice an almost complete overhaul of the digital layout. BMW replaced traditional gauge clusters with a projection display spanning the base of the windscreen.
The main cabin technology includes:
- A 17.9-inch main touchscreen running the latest BMW Operating System.
- A dedicated 14.6-inch screen built directly into the dashboard for the front passenger.
- An upgraded 31.3-inch 8K theatre screen in the back for streaming, video calls, and gaming.
- An 18-speaker Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system with Dolby Atmos support.
- A new four-spoke steering wheel alongside a full-width ambient light bar across the dash.
Performance and Engine Upgrades
Under the hood, the BMW 7 Series and i7 Facelifts gain noticeable power bumps across both traditional and electric powertrains.
Both petrol and diesel versions retain their 3.0-litre inline six engines paired with a mild hybrid system and an eight-speed automatic transmission. On the electric side, the entry-level i7 50 drops its Rear Wheel Drive setup and gains xDrive All Wheel Drive as standard equipment, powered by a larger 112.4 kWh battery pack.

Expected Pricing and Availability
When the BMW 7 Series and i7 Facelifts arrive, they will replace the current lineup in India. The outgoing petrol and diesel models start at Rs 1.85 crore ex-showroom. The current electric i7 sells between Rs 2.10 crore and Rs 2.58 crore ex-showroom. Prices for the facelifted range are expected to see a slight increase due to the extra standard equipment and larger battery setup.
Conclusion
BMW is launching its complete flagship sedan family in one go on September 11. By packing the car with cutting-edge screens, refined mild hybrid engines, and an upgraded electric range for the i7, the German brand is preparing to keep its top-tier luxury offering fresh against rivals like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Audi A8.
