TVS Motor partners what3words to offer easy navigation to 2-wheeler users

TVS Motor Company on Monday said that it has partnered with location technology provider what3words to provide a seamless and accurate travel experience for its two-wheeler customers.

In a statement, the company said it has integrated its innovative location technology of what3words into the TVS Connect customer app, which users can share and navigate anywhere using three simple words.

The location technology of what3words divides the world into a grid of 3-metre squares and gives each square a unique combination of 3 random words as an address and helps in more accurate navigation.

"Navigation accuracy is an essential part of the connected vehicle offering, and we have been looking for innovative ways to improve the driving experience for our customers. We are excited to be associated with what3words, which does this by using 3-word addresses generated out of their precise location system as close as 3-metres to the location," TVS Motor Company Assistant Vice President, Digital Marketing Saurabh Khullar said.

Stating that this will increase efficiency by offering a seamless travel experience built into TVS Connect, he said that these unique 3-word addresses will be offered to TVS Apache brand customers and the travel community first and gradually rolled out to customers across other brands in a phased manner.

"Whether exploring remote terrains, recommending epic new routes, or just cruising to new destinations, what3words ensures that TVS Motor Company riders always get to exactly the right place," said Chris Sheldrick, what3words co-founder and CEO Chris Sheldrick said.

With addresses in India are often not accurate enough to specify precise locations and make it difficult to find places and people and complicate deliveries, TVS said: “This partnership will make navigation simple, hassle-free and less time-consuming for customers across India."

It added: "what3words also works offline, which means that customers can rely on what3words to get them exactly where they need them, even in areas with poor connectivity.
