Porsche unveils 2025 Porsche 911 facelift with hybrid technology
Porsche has introduced the 2025 Porsche 911 Facelift globally, focusing on the Carrera and GTS. The update brings subtle exterior design changes and new cabin features, but the significant update is the introduction of hybrid technology in the powertrain.
Porsche 911 Hybrid Launch Date and Price
The new 911 Carrera (Both Coupe and Cabriolet) and Carrera GTS are now available for global orders and are expected to arrive in India in late 2024 or early 2025. Following the 911's transition to hybrid technology, the smaller 718 It will also become electric. For now, the T-Hybrid powertrain is exclusive to the GTS and additional hybrid versions are expected to follow. When launched in India, the 911 Hybrid is expected to be priced higher than the current 911 Carrera, starting at INR 1.86 lakh crore (ex-showroom), and will compete with the Ferrari 296 GTB.
Hybrid Powertrain: A New Era for the Porsche 911
The 2025 Porsche 911 GTS now features a 3.6-liter turbocharged 6-cylinder boxer engine paired with an electric motor integrated into an 8-speed PDK transmission. This hybrid setup provides a combined power of 541 HP and 610 Nm, significantly higher than the previous non-hybrid model. The electric motor itself contributes 15 HP and 150 Nm.
With this new powertrain, the 911 GTS can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 3 seconds, with a top speed limited to 312 kmph. The improved performance also translates to a faster Nurburgring lap time, now 7.17 seconds, shaving 8.7 seconds from the outgoing model's record. However, the inclusion of the 400V battery adds 50kg to the vehicle's weight.

The Carrera variant features a newly rebuilt 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged boxer engine, producing 394 PS and 450 Nm. In addition, it now includes an intercooler borrowed from the 911 Turbo, enhancing its performance.
The GTS trim comes standard with rear-wheel steering and PASM sports suspension, making it 10 mm lower than the Carrera. Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control remains optional. The GTS also benefits from wider tyres and drag-reducing wheels for better handling.

With these updates, Porsche continues to combine performance with practicality, ensuring that the 911 remains a top choice for enthusiasts and daily drivers alike.
