Citroen C5 Aircross to get a facelift, updated SUV set for launch on September 7

Citroen is set to launch the facelifted version of their premium SUV, the C5 Aircross, in India on September 7. Updates will include revised front and rear profiles, and an updated interior with some major feature updates. The new Citroen C5 Aircross is also expected to fetch a premium over the current model's showroom starting price, which ranges from Rs 32.24 lakh to Rs 33.78 lakh.

The new look of the Citroen C5 Aircross will be on par with the new model that was introduced to the European market earlier this year. As for the changes in the front profile, the C5 Aircross will have a new set of headlights and the grill design will be modified. Similarly, the front bumper will also be redesigned and the air intakes will be slightly lower than before. As for the rear appearance, the LED backlight units will get a new design along with new graphics.

Inside, the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross will feature a new dash design. This will have a new 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an updated 12.3-inch instrument cluster. It will also feature several new and updated multimedia features, details of which are yet to be confirmed. The air conditioning vents will be relocated to accommodate the larger infotainment screen, and the gear selector and air conditioning controls will be smaller than before.

The highlights of the current C5 Aircross are its seats and comfort. From the cushioning to the way it holds you in place, the C5 Aircross's seats can hold up like the best in their class. To further add to the comfort quotient, Citroen is expected to equip ventilated front-row seats in the upcoming model.

The new C5 Aircross will also come with the Highway Driver Assist System, which will include a combination of Driver Assistance and Active Safety (ADAS) features. The suite will include features such as: lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and a start-stop function, to name a few. All of these features are not available with the current model.

Mechanically, the upcoming C5 Aircross will be powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine mated to an eight-speed transmission. This powerhouse produces 174.57 horsepower and 400 Nm of peak torque.

When Citroen launches its C5 Aircross facelift next week, it will renew its competition with the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass and Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace.
