BMW launches 2022 X4 in India, price starts at INR 70.5 lakh

New Delhi: German luxury carmaker BMW said Thursday that it has launched the updated version of its 2022 X4 SUV Coupe in India with a starting price of INR 70.5 (ex-showroom). The petrol variant is priced at INR 70.5 lakh while the diesel variant is priced at INR 72.5 lakh.

The company said it has refreshed the Sports Activity Coupe (SAC) with new design elements, added equipment and features.

The 3-liter 2022 X4 diesel engine produces 265 hp, which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds. On the other hand, the 2-liter petrol engine generates 252 horsepower, which helps the car accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 6.6 seconds.

The new model is produced locally at BMW Group's plant in Chennai, and will be available in both variants at all of the company's dealerships in India from Thursday. Both engines are mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox and feature BMW's xDrive all-wheel drive system as standard.

Vikram Bhawa, President of BMW Group India, said: "The X4 has successfully promoted the iconic sports coupe concept in India. It immediately became the vehicle of choice for customers with a unique style that stands out from the rest."

"The new X4 is now ready to continue this position in its class with a renewed exterior and attractive appearance with multiple technological features," he said.

Safety features include six airbags, Attentiveness assist, dynamic stability control (DSC) including cornering brake control (CBC), electric parking brake with automatic stabilization, side impact protection, electronic vehicle immobilizer, shock sensor, ISOFIX child seat mounting and integrated emergency spare wheel under the load floor.

BMW said the model is available in an exclusive "Black Shadow" edition in limited numbers only.
