โผTata Motors has officially launched the 2026 Tata Tiago and Tiago EV in India with an attractive starting price of Rs 4.69 lakh ex-showroom for the petrol model and Rs 6.99 lakh for the electric version. This updated hatchback series introduces a comprehensive design overhaul, premium cabin features, segment-first safety additions, and highly efficient powertrain options to challenge top market rivals.
Bold New Design Language and Colour Options
The updated hatchback showcases a sharp exterior look that heightens its road presence.
Visual Upgrades for Petrol and Electric Models
- Front Fascia: Features a revised LED headlamp cluster with sharp eyebrow-style daytime running lights. A sleek black central panel merges into a reengineered front bumper.
- Rear Profile: Receives connected style LED taillights with distinct vertical lines, an updated bumper, and a practical wiper.
- EV Exclusive Touches: The electric variant swaps the black nose panel for a body colored insert, adding unique EV badging and aerodynamic alloy wheels.
Vibrant Colour Palette
The petrol versions debut with finishes like Varanasi Vibrance, Sobo Surge, Pangong Pulse, Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Daytona Grey. The electric model shares these while adding an exclusive Dehradun Dew shade.
Transformed Premium Interior and High Tech Cabin
The cabin undergoes a major transformation. While maintaining a clean black and light grey theme, the dashboard implements an upright layout.
Drivers receive a standalone digital display alongside a revised two-spoke steering wheel housing an illuminated Tata logo. The centerpiece is a premium 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system.
New features loaded into the cabin include:
- Dual wireless smartphone charging pads
- Holistic 360-degree camera system with a blind spot monitor
- Rear AC vents, cruise control, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic headlamps
Powertrain Dynamics and First in Segment Tech
The standard hatchback relies on a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated petrol motor generating 86 hp of power and 113 Nm of torque. The dual cylinder Tata Tiago iCNG alternative outputs 75 hp of power and 96 Nm of torque. Both setups connect to a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automated manual transmission. This marks the first time a factory-fitted CNG vehicle offers an automatic transmission option in this segment.
The electric counterpart offers flexibility with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery packs. It achieves a usable range between 205 km and 215 km on a single charge, while the official MIDC rating stands at 285 km. Owners can replenish 100 km of range in 18 minutes using a 30 kW DC fast charger. The EV safely adds smart auto demist and a high beam alert to its system.
Variant Wise Pricing Architecture
To make electric mobility accessible, Tata introduces the Battery as a Service ownership model. This brings the Tiago EV entry price down to Rs 4.69 lakh ex-showroom, paired with a nominal battery rental of Rs 2.6 per kilometer.
