While the Swedish carmaker is all set to launch the new SUV, XC40 on July 4, 2018, it has already received 80,000 pre-bookings across the globe. It only has 200 units of the SUV for pre-booking left. Well, if you are planning to buy this model, you need to buckle up and register soon.
But hey? The good news is that Volvo has created a way to meet this demand. It has announced the expansion of its production houses at prime locations, some of those could be Belgium, Ghent, China, and Luqiao.
The Volvo XC40 is an absolutely new kind of Volvo, yet remains true to the way they’ve always created cars. The creation is always designed such that it is consumer-centric. It promises to design and innovate in order to make your life more enjoyable and less complicated. It has a good sense of style and would surely be a hit amongst the ladies. Looking at the excitement and the pre-booking numbers, I think it has already cracked the code to win hearts of the younger generation.
A car which is street smart, ready for action, a smart partner, your protector and the one that provides you space for life. The XC40 is the first car to be built on Volvo’s Compact Modular Architecture (CMA). Volvo has positioned itself such that their target audience is younger customers. Hence, the model is expected to attract youngsters as well as new customers to the brand in India. With an impressive design, ingenious storage and smart technology, it is truly built for city goers.
If you’re one of those wealthy youngsters in the town, we’re sure you wouldn’t want to lose out on something so unique. The SUV will be available with the three variant options of colours namely red (with a black top), blue and black (with a white top). The XC40 is amongst those well-equipped cars in its class, especially in terms of safety. It not only offers Level 2 autonomous driving in the form of lane keep aid and the radar-based cruise control but also other safety features like the hill start and hill descent control, and park pilot assist.
What’s really likable and an instant love, at first sight, is the cabin’s playful geometry. It’s a brilliant mix of curvy elements and squared off edges, like the horn pad and center dial. A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 8-way electrically adjustable front seats, all-digital instrument cluster, a 13-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, dual zone climate control with rear AC vents, multiple airbags, and a panoramic sunroof are some of the amazing features added to this beauty. At the same time it misses out on more practical and common features like rain-sensing wipers.
Volvo XC40 is likely to be priced between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 42 lakh. It is smartly competitively priced. It will take on the likes and consumers of other entry-level luxury SUVs such as the BMW X1, Audi Q3, and the Mercedes Benz GLA.
