Toyota Hilux Pickup Truck Launched In India, Prices Begin At ₹ 34 Lakh

After unveiling the highly anticipated Hilux lifestyle truck in India in January, Toyota Kirloskar Motor has now announced the prices, starting at ₹ 33.99 lakh for standard 4x4 manual, ₹ 35.80 lakh long manual 4x4 and ₹ 36.80 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, India) for 4x4 Auto High variants. In addition, the new Toyota Hilux truck receives all-wheel drive for all trims, coupled to its single 2.8-litre 4-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine option. Toyota Hilux is offered only in double cab variant and shares underpinnings with Toyota Innova Crystal and Toyota Fortuner. It is spawned by the IMV-2 platform.

Toyota Hilux engine:

The heart of the Toyota Hilux is powered by a 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine from the Fortuner that produces 201 hp and 420 Nm of maximum torque in the manual variant, while the automatic variant generates 500 Nm of maximum torque. Hilux also comes equipped with full driving assistance features including Hill Assist, Brake Assist, Hill Descent Control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), differential lock, limited slip and differential lock. It also has a water wading capacity of 700 mm.

Toyota Hilux design:

The Toyota Hilux's design is inspired by the Toyota Innova Crysta and therefore features a hexagonal surround grille, but is slightly larger than the latter, along with LED tilting headlights and LED DRLs  Moreover, it gets large front bumpers to go with its butch face. The 18-inch alloy wheels, flared wheel arches, side steps and body cladding keep the Hilux extremely durable. LED taillights with black rearview mirrors and pillars add to its urban appeal. Toyota Hilux is offered in Passion Red, Pearl White, Silver Metallic, Ultra White and Gray Metallic.

Toyota Hilux interior:

The interior design is similar to the Toyota Fortuner Facelift for sale in India. And so you get an all-black cabin with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, an 8-speaker JBL audio system, ventilated seats, cruise control, eight-way power-adjustable front seats, app-based connected car tech, and wireless charger among others.
