The Indian automobile sector will have a busy month in June. We will also see new purchasing habits, given the majority of vehicles launching in June are SUVs and crossovers. We've compiled a list of five of the most anticipated new car launches in June 2022.
Kia EV6 – June 2nd
The Kia EV6 is first on our list of new car launches since it is the most luxury and pricey of the bunch. Kia will launch its first electric vehicle in India, and it will be sold as a CBU. The EV6 is a popular vehicle in Europe and North America, and Kia will import 100 cars to India in the first year. Bookings for the event have already begun at Rs 3 lakh.
There are two battery versions available internationally: a 58 kWh battery pack and a 77.4 kWh battery pack. To justify the cost, India will get the top-spec GT-Line edition, which is powered by a bigger 77.4 kWh battery connected to two electric motors in an AWD configuration. It has 320 horsepower and 605 Nm of torque, and a range of more than 500 kilometres. It is expected to cost roughly Rs. 60 lakh.
Second Half of June – Citroen C3
Citroen made its debut in India with the release of the quirky-looking C5 Aircross. It has a well-made interior and good performance. But it wasn't a high-volume vehicle, and it didn't sell as well at the asking price.
Citroen hopes to reverse its fortunes in India by focusing on localization and low-cost, high-volume vehicles. That's where the C3 comes in handy. Citroen's C3 second in our list of new car launches will be a small SUV hatchback that will compete with Tata's Punch and Nissan's Magnite. Citroen has been tight-lipped about the car's actual specifications and pricing, although we can expect it to have a 1.2L petrol engine and be priced accordingly.
Facelifted Hyundai Venue – 2nd Half of June
The facelifted Hyundai Venue is slated to be released in June. It is in third place in our list of new car launches, It will get a new front fascia and some changes in the back. On the inside, it will gain ventilated seats, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, multiple interior hues, and different upholstery options.
It will be mechanically similar to the outgoing Venue, with the same 1.2L petrol and 1.5L diesel engines paired to manual, iMT, or DCT transmissions. The addition of an automatic option on diesel variants such as the Sonet will be new to the facelift model. It will also be available in an N-Line model, similar to the i20 N-line.
The Mahindra Scorpio N will be released on June 27th
In India, the Mahindra Scorpio is the most talked-about vehicle and definitely features in the list of new car launches. It will be released in June to commemorate Scorpio's 20th anniversary in India. When the rest of the competition, notably its arch-rival Tata Safari, is avoiding traditional SUV construction, the ScorpioN will be based on a tough ladder-frame SUV.
The Mahindra ScorpioN will be a much higher-end vehicle than the Scorpio Classic, with plenty of creature comforts in line with the sector. It will be available with 2.0L petrol and 2.2L diesel engines. In some models, a 4X4 system will be available. The launch date is June 27th.
Maruti Suzuki Brezza – June 2nd
The new Maruti Suzuki Brezza will be available in June. Maruti Suzuki will make small adjustments to the car's equipment list and make it feel more luxurious on the interior.
To begin with, the 2022 Brezza will have a sunroof, a larger infotainment system, rear AC vents, and a few more things that the previous model lacked. The same 1.5L petrol engine that debuted with the new Ertiga and XL6 a month ago will power it. In addition, the previous 4-speed automatic transmission will be replaced with a new 6-speed automatic transmission. It has been placed on fifth position in our list of new car launches.
