Tata Nexon facelift to launch on Sept 14, bookings open. Here's what to expect

Tata Motors has commenced the booking process for its upcoming Nexon facelift SUV. Interested customers can reserve the new Nexon through the official website of Tata Motors or at any authorized dealer in India by making a token payment of ₹11,000. Official pricing for the updated 2023 Nexon SUV will be announced on September 14th, and deliveries are expected to commence shortly thereafter, to meet the expected high demand during the holiday season.

The facelifted 2023 Nexon SUV offers a range of 11 different variants for customers to choose from. Tata Motors introduced a new naming convention for these variants, moving away from the previous X prefix and giving each one a distinct name. These variants are: Smart, Smart+, Smart+ (S), Pure+, Pure+ (S), Creative, Creative+, Creative+ (S), Fearless, Fearless (S), Fearless+ (S).

According to a report, the SUV will be available in a palette of six attractive color options, including Fearless Purple, Pure Grey, Creative Ocean, Flame Red, Daytona Gray and Pristine White.

The Tata Nexon SUV is expected to retain the existing petrol and diesel engine options. However, there is now a wide range of transportation options available. The 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, capable of producing 120hp and 170Nm of maximum torque, can be mated to four different transmission options: five-speed manual, six-speed manual, six-speed automatic and a new 7-speed. DCT gearbox with paddle shifters. On the other hand, the 1.5-liter diesel engine, which generates 115 hp and 160 Nm of maximum torque, continues to be offered with the same six-speed manual gearbox and six-speed AMT gearbox options.

In terms of changes, the 2023 Nexon SUV has been given a sportier appearance in its new iteration, drawing inspiration from the Curvv concept previously revealed by Tata Motors. Notable updates include new, exclusive sequential-pattern LED DRLs and a redesigned LED segment headlamp unit. The grille has been enlarged to lend the Nexon a more aggressive look, while the bumper has been updated with chrome accents. Moving to the rear, the SUV features a revised LED taillight unit with a continuous LED strip running across the entire width of the vehicle.

Speaking of the interior, the Nexon SUV is likely to undergo significant enhancements. It features a newly designed flat-bottom, two-spoke steering wheel with illuminated touch controls and the Tata Motors logo. The car now features a 10.25-inch floating infotainment display, earlier seen on the Nexon EV Max Dark Edition, and is compatible with Tata's iRA connected car technology. In addition, the digital driver display, which also measures 10.25 inches, has been updated with customizable navigation features.

The Nexon facelift SUV boasts several additional features like a 360-degree camera system and ventilated front seats with the added convenience of height adjustment, which is a first for this model. It also includes wireless charging, automatic climate control, a power sunroof, and cruise control, among other amenities. When it comes to safety, the new Nexon SUV comes equipped with six airbags as standard, front parking sensors, ISOFIX child safety seat mounts and Electronic Stability Control (ESC).
