Tata Nexon EV launched in India at the price of Rs. 13.99 lakh

The first electric SUV car by Tata, the Nexon EV has recently been launched in India. The car has been priced between Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh (ex-showroom price, pan-India). The prices are introductory and may be expected to increase in the future. The Tata Nexon EV will be sold in around 22 cities.rnrnThe base variant of the Nexon EV, XM has been priced at Rs. 13.99 lakh and comes equipped with the latest features including LED DRLs, automatic climate control, keyless entry and go, and power windows as standard. But the base variant misses out on the premium kit which includes features such as the 16-inch alloy wheels, dual-tone colour options, power-adjustable and folding mirrors, a 7.0-inch colour MID and an Android Auto and Apple CarPlay-compatible 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. These features are available with the XZ+ variant of the Tata Nexon EV.rnrnThe top-spec variant of the Nexon EV XZ+ LUX has more features in addition to the above-listed features. These include a sunroof, auto headlights, wipers, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and an eight-speaker Harman-sourced speaker system. The electric compact SUV has been equipped with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack that powers a motor located on the front axle. This electric motor makes 129hp and a peak torque of 245Nm. This ensures that the Tata Nexon EV will go from 0 to 100 kph in 9.9 sec as claimed by the company. Tata claims that the new Nexon EV  gives a range of 312 km certified by ARAIrnrnThe standard 15A AC charger will charge the car battery within 8-9 hours to 100 per cent. While a CCS2-compatible DC fast charger will charge the battery up to 80 per cent within just an hour. Tata has goals to build confidence in the consumer's minds by offering the function of energy regeneration. Through this function, the battery will get replenished when the SUV is coasting and braking. Tata provides the customers with an 8-year or 1,60,000 km warranty on the motor as well as the battery. The rest of the car will have a standard warranty of 3 years or 1.25 lakh kilometre as well as a 5-year extended warranty pack.rnrnTata will also be providing a free home charger. In addition to this, access will be provided to 300 DC fast chargers with preferential rates for the customers of Nexon EV. By the end of March 2020, this network is expected to expand to around 300 outlets and by the end of March 2021, 650 outlets are expected to be set up. In the initial period, the company will also provide mobile charging services in the five major metro cities of India.rnrnTata Motors is tapping into the opportunities with the Tata group companies that have come together to set up the country's first EV ecosystem. Tata Motors is popular as a company that produces vehicles with high safety standards. The Nexon EV has scored a five-star safety rating at the Global NCAP crash tests. The new all-electric compact SUV  is equipped with all the safety features including dual airbags, ABS with EBD and cornering stability control, ISOFIX anchorage for child seats and reverse park assist.rnrnApart from the electric drivetrain, there is not much difference between the Nexon EV and the compact SUV’s facelift model that was launched a while ago. The Tata Nexon EV is currently the most affordable all-electric SUV in India.
