We are in that era where people tend to buy a scooter over a bike. They are more comfortable and can be used for any purpose in day-to-day life. Two giant companies Suzuki and Honda have released their scooters in the 125cc segment. The Suzuki Burgman Street and Honda Activa 125 have such great features that it becomes difficult for the users to choose one. The Activa has its own market and the Burgman is a new release but as we analyse its specifications, it is going to give a tough competition to the Activa. So, here is a detailed review of the specifications, price and all other features of both:
They both have a 124 cc one-cylinder engine which provides a butter-smooth ride. The Burgman chu
s out the max power and provides 8.6bhp at 7000 rpm whereas Activa provides 8.5bhp at 6500rpm. The Activa(10.54Nm) provides more torque than the Burgman(10.2Nm) but at the same 5000rpm. The other things like bore, stroke, fuel delivery system, fuel type, cooling type and valves per cylinder are the same in both cases. The transmission type in both Burgman and Activa is CVT. They both possess tubeless tyres and provide almost the same performance.
The built quality of both the products is premium. They provide you with the latest technology that is present. The upper body of the Activa is made up of metal whereas in case of Burgman it is made up of plastic and other material. The handle in case of Activa is traditional but in the case of Burgman, it is dis-attached. So it feels easy and good to drive with a less load. They both provide under- seat space but in the case of Burgman, it is attached with the inbuilt mobile charging port. The leg space is more in Burgman as compared to Activa. Long drives are easy on it as you can relax your legs. The fuel tank is present below the seats in both the cases. The main frame design of Activa is traditional but the Burgman comes in a new design which is quite attractive. The new generation is going to love it.
The price of Burgman Street Standard is Rs 68,000. The Activa comes in three variants and they all have different pricing. The disc variant costs Rs 64,007, drum variant with steel wheels comes at Rs 59,621 and the drum with alloy wheels comes at Rs 61,558(all ex-showroom Delhi prices). Thus, the Burgman and Activa disc variants have a price margin of just Rs 4000.
So, if you are looking for some new features and design, then the Burgman is a good choice for you. With stunning lights and new gen design, it is going to fit into your lifestyle. But if you want to go with the old name and solid manufacturing then Activa is a good choice for you. With its full metal body and comfortable design, it is going to last long!
