Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday announced that it will recall 2,555 Alto K10 vehicles for a possible defect in the steering gear box assembly (“part”). The said defect, in rare cases, may affect the vehicle’s steerability, the company said in a statement on exchanges.
“Out of an abundance caution, customers of the affected vehicles are advised not to drive or use the vehicle until the part is replaced,” the country’s largest carmaker said.
Affected vehicle owners will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshops for inspecting the part and replacing it “free of cost.”
In March this year, the company had to recall over 16,000 units of its best-selling models, Baleno and WagonR, due to a defect in its fuel pump motor.
“A possible defect in the fuel pump motor part is suspected, which in rare cases may cause engine stalling or engine starting issue,” Maruti said then said.
