Kia India has officially launched three new versions of the Sonet in the country, with prices starting at Rs. 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom). As previously reported, the sub-four meter SUV will receive a new GTX model, and now the automaker has confirmed a new HTK+ turbo-petrol version too.
Starting with the GTX model, this iteration of the Seltos features ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, paddle shifters, leather seats, traction and drive control modes, and a window-up/down safety window function.
The 1.0-litre turbo petrol trim is now available in a new HTK variant, priced at Rs. 9.60 lakh (ex-showroom). Producing 118 PS and 172 Nm of torque, this engine sends power to the front wheels solely through a six-speed iMT gearbox.
Notably, all Sonet variants have also received additional minor features, with the HTE, THE(O) and HTK which now receive Isofix child seat anchorage points. In addition to the latter, the HTK (O) variant gets a rear wiper and washer.
Next up is the HTK+ variant of the Kia Sonet, which now comes with LED headlights, rear wiper, windshield washer and Isofix mounting points for child seats. Meanwhile, Tata Nexon's rival HTX model now features a wireless mobile charger, 16-inch alloy wheels, rear wipers and washers.
The Sonet is available with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine, a 1.5-litre diesel engine and a 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine. Transmission options include a six-speed manual unit, a five-speed manual unit, a six-speed iMT unit, a six-speed torque converter automatic unit and a seven-speed DCT unit.
