BPCL has placed an order for 1,800 DC EV chargers from Servotech Power Systems Ltd. With a project value of Rs 120 crore, Servotech will manufacture, supply, and install 1,800 EV chargers across the country at BPCL's petrol pumps in major cities by the end of the year 2024.
As part of the BPCL E-drive project, the charger installation drive includes two DC fast charging capacities: 60 kW and 120 kW. BPCL currently has more than 13,000 fully operational fuel stations in India. Through strategic mapping, nearly every fuel pump could have an electric vehicle charging station within the facility. As for Servotech, the Delhi-based company has supplied 4,000 electric vehicle chargers across the country so far.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarika Bhatia, Director, Servotech said: “Our partnership focuses on creating a dynamic EV charging network that makes EV charging accessible to EV owners across the country. Through advanced DC fast chargers for EVs, Servotech Power Systems aims to play a pivotal role in achieving India's ambitious goals in the electric mobility sector, taking the country closer to becoming an electric vehicle energy-reliant nation.
