German luxury automaker BMW has launched its XM SUV in India, priced at INR 2,60,00,000 (ex-showroom, India). The fully assembled unit (CBU) is available for booking in the company's dealership network. Deliveries will commence from May 2023 onwards.
It is the first high-performance model with an electrified drive system. The M Hybrid system consists of a new V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology and an electric motor integrated into the 8-speed M Steptronic transmission.
This plug-in hybrid system delivers a maximum combined output of 480 kW (653 hp) and a maximum torque of 800 Nm. The combustion engine delivers up to 360 kW (489 hp) and a maximum torque of 650 Nm at 1,600-5,000 rpm, while the electric drive system generates a maximum power of 145 kW (197 hp) and a maximum torque of 280 Nm at 100 - 5500 rpm.
A 25.7 kWh lithium-ion battery is situated in the underbody. It offers an all-electric driving range of up to 88 km. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 4.3 seconds. Top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h, although this figure rises to 270 km/h with the optional M Driver's Package.
According to the company, the first BMW XM is the first standalone M model since the BMW M1.
The cabin includes a 14.9-inch curved screen with navigation with real-time traffic information and a magnified view, a 12.3-inch digital information screen behind the steering wheel and a head-up display.
Safety features include six airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), M Dynamic Mode (MDM), Attention Assist, network-connected M Sport Differential with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), and Dynamic Cruise Control. Brakes (DBC), Active Roll Hold with Active Roll Comfort, Performance Control, Electric Parking Brake with Automatic Hold, Side Impact Protection, Electronic Vehicle Immobilizer and Collision Sensor, ISOFIX Child Seat Mount, Integrated Emergency Spare Wheel Under Load Floor.
The model is available in color options including Cape York Green, Toronto Red, Mineral White, BMW Individual Dravit Gray, Black Sapphire, Marina Bay Blue and Carbon Black. It features BMW Individual Merino leather in Slate Orange, Deep Lake, Silverstone and Black.
The SUV comes with a standard two-year unlimited mileage warranty. Repair Inclusive can extend warranty benefits from the third year of operation to a maximum of five years without any mileage restrictions. The battery is covered by a warranty valid for eight years or up to 120,000 km.
