Maruti Suzuki has unveiled its compact SUV, the Fronx, at the Auto Expo 2023, along with its much-anticipated off-road SUV, the Jimny. Fronx bookings have already commenced for Rs 11,000, starting today.
Fronx is available in five different variants, including Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. The SUV is available in five mono-tone and three dual colors to choose from, including Arctic White, Earthen Brown, Opulent Red and Splendid Silver.
On the outside, the front of the Fronx takes clear inspiration from the Grand Vitara with a similar fascia and grille design, but with new three-pod LED headlamps. In profile, it sports a coupe-like C-pillar with a sloping roofline. Then at the rear, the SUV gets a vehicle-width LED strip with distinctive LED taillights.
The cabin is similar to other new Maruti models and features a floating infotainment system, wireless charging, a flat-bottom steering wheel, HUD, 360-degree camera, cruise control, six airbags, and more.
Under the hood, the Fronx SUV is powered by two engine options. This includes a beefed-up 1.0-liter engine that produces 99 horsepower and 147 Nm of torque, and the familiar 1.2-liter twin-turbo petrol engine that produces 89 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque. Three transmission options are offered: a five-speed manual, a six-speed torque converter, and AMT.
