Tata Nexon mileage in India increased; BS6 Phase 2 effect?

Tata Motors is currently updating its range of cars to comply with the BS6 Phase 2 and RDE norms which will come into effect from April 1. While the Harrier and Safari have already received this update, we expect all other models to get the update in the coming days.

Tata has now updated the Nexon's mileage on its official website, hinting that this may be a result of upgrading the engines to the new emissions standards. As a result, the entire range, including petrol, diesel, MT and AMT versions, now has higher mileage than before.

The petrol consumption of the Tata Nexon MT increased from 17.10 to 17.33kmpl, registering an increase of 0.23 kilometers per second. Likewise, the fuel efficiency of the AMT versions increased by 0.01 kilometers per second, from 17.04 to 17.05kmpl.

In the diesel engine lineup, the Tata Nexon MT versions see an increase in fuel efficiency from 21.1 to 23.22kmpl, resulting in a hike of 2.12kmpl. On the other hand, the AMT versions now return a fuel economy of 24.07kmpl compared to the previous version of 22kmpl. This means a higher fuel efficiency of 2.07kmpl. Please note that all the numbers mentioned above are ARAI approved figures.
