Mahindra XUV700 awarded ‘Safer Choice’ title by Global NCAP

Global NCAP crash testing agency has revealed the latest crash test results of its #SaferCarsForIndia campaign under current test protocols. Previously with a five-star safety rating, the Mahindra XUV700 SUV was awarded a "Safest Choice" award from the dealership. Besides, Global NCAP also revealed that Kia Carens received three stars for protecting adult occupants and three stars for protecting child occupants.

The "Safer Choice" designation is awarded only to models that achieve high levels of safety performance, meet certain criteria, including Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and meet performance requirements in accordance with UN UN13H, UN140 or GTR8. The model must have received a five star rating for adult occupant protection and at least four stars for child occupant protection according to the latest version of the new NCAP Global Market Test Protocol.

It received five stars for adult occupant protection and four stars for occupant protection. As the model met the requirements of ESC and Pedestrian Protection, Mahindra voluntarily sent it in for further testing.

This is Mahindra's second 'Safer Choice' and the company's first award in 2020 for the XUV300. The model has received a five-star safety rating to protect adult occupants and a four-star safety rating to protect child occupants. Alejandro Foras, Secretary General of the Global NCAP Program, said: “Global NCAP congratulates Mahindra for its second 'Safer Choice' award and the broader inclusion of ADAS technologies.
