Honda Stylo 160 Scooter: A Potential New Arrival in India

After recently patenting the designs of four big bikes in India, Honda has now added the Stylo 160 scooter to the list. While this might be a usual intellectual property protection move, Honda could surprise us by launching the scooter in India. If it does, the Honda Stylo 160 will compete with the likes of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the upcoming Hero Xoom 160.

What's the Honda Stylo 160?

Currently sold only in Indonesia, it’s a typical Honda scooter with a design that aims to appeal to riders of all age groups. The scooter offers curvy and swooping body lines, an oval-shaped headlamp, a large single-piece seat, and a sturdy grab rail. Despite its simple and elegant design, it comes packed with features like full LED lighting, a digital console, a keyless start system, and a USB charger.

Engine and Performance

Powering the Stylo 160 is a 156.9cc, single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that delivers around 16bhp and 15Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a CVT system for smooth and easy riding. The scooter rides on 12-inch alloy wheels and features a suspension setup that includes telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.

Braking and Safety

For braking, the higher-spec variant of the Honda Stylo 160 comes equipped with a single disc at both the front and rear, along with single-channel ABS for added safety. There is also a more affordable variant that features CBS (Combined Braking System).

Weight and Build

The Honda Stylo 160 has a kerb weight of 118kg, making it relatively light and easy to handle.

Final Thoughts

With its blend of classic Honda design and modern features, the Honda Stylo 160 could be a strong contender in the Indian scooter market. If Honda decides to launch it, this scooter will bring more choices to riders looking for a stylish yet practical ride. Keep an eye out for this potential new entry!
