Brixton Motorcycles Announces Its Official Entry Into India

Out of the many genres of motorcycles, in the current Indian two-wheeler market, adventure touring and modern retro class of motorcycles have recently gained a lot of traction recently as all two-wheeler brands are in the process to mark your presence in this space. However, on the latter, a new bike manufacturer has officially announced its entry into India. Brixton Motorcycles Austria, as the name suggests, is a young Austrian two-wheeler that has been around for over 25 years. If you visit the company's international website, you will notice that they make a good range of motorcycles inspired by old classic design and equip them with modern machinery on the mechanical front. After securing its presence in the European and Asian markets, KAW Veloce Motors Pvt. Ltd. Ltd. India, part of the KAW Group, has signed a strategic partnership with Brixton Motorcycles to bring the Austrian two-wheeler brand to India.

Under the new partnership, with a production facility to be set up in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, the company will launch four models in India in the upcoming festive season, including Crossfire 500X, Crossfire 500XC, Cromwell 1200 and Cromwell 1200X. According to Brixton Motorcycles, the models were assembled with important selling points such as retro styling, affordability, suitability for urban riding and customization in mind. The company aims to set a competitive price for its production, which, together with urban practicality, should attract the attention of a wide range of cyclists.

In terms of expansion plans, KAW Veloce Motors and Brixton Motorcycles Austria have chalked out a two-phase expansion programme. The first phase involves setting up a manufacturing plant in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, which will have a production capacity of over 40,000 units per year. Among the existing product range, ranging from 125 cc to 1,200 cc, in international markets, the company currently plans to introduce 500 cc and 1,200 cc motorcycles first. The second phase of the expansion program will see the co-development of new products designed specifically for the Indian market at the Austrian Design Center in Brixton, along with expanded manufacturing capabilities.

Brixton Motorcycles will be initially operating through 13 cities including Pune/BCMC, Mumbai, Thane, Nashik, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Cochin, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vapi and Panjim.
