Tata Motors has finally added ADAS, a 360-degree camera and many other features to its SUV duo, Tata Harrier and Safari. Updated car bookings are open from today. The updated SUV is expected to be launched in India soon.
Starting with the list of changes, the first one is ADAS technology. The Tata SUV will now have up to 10 safety features such as front and rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, high beam assist, lane departure warning, blind spot detection, lane change alert, open door alert and rear cross allert. In addition, the SUV will be equipped with a 360-degree surround camera and six airbags.
Along with improved safety, Tata has made the Harrier's cabin even more luxurious with Oak Brown theme on the dashboard. It will also feature a new 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with an updated user interface and more than 200 voice commands in six languages.
Another upgrade is behind the steering wheel, the SUV will feature a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster. Also in terms of connectivity, the upgraded infotainment unit gets wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
With the XUV700, Harrier now features six-way power driver's seats with memory and a welcome feature.
Mechanically, the new Harrier will come equipped with a BS6 Stage 2 compliant 2.0-litre Kryotec diesel engine producing the same 168 horsepower and 350Nm of torque. In the meantime, the transfer options will be carried over from the outgoing model.
