MG Motor is reportedly planning to launch a new electric car in India later this year.
As per reports the so called MG Cloud EV will be launched in India in September this year.
MG is expected to price it less than Rs 20 lakh, some reports claimed, while others quoted a price of around Rs 25 lakh. If priced around Rs 20 lakh, the Cloud EV will compete with Tata Nexon, BYE E6 and Mahindra XUV400. Maruti Suzuki is also expected to introduce its next electric car, the Suzuki eVX, in the same price segment.
If launched, the Cloud EV will become MG's most premium electric vehicle in the country.
The Cloud EV is said to be a crossover-MPV measuring 4.3 meters with a stylish design. The electric vehicle is said to have a luxurious cabin along with features such as a 360-degree camera, dual digital displays, climate control, connected car tech, Level 2 ADAS diver assistance, powered seats, and sunroof.
The MG Cloud EV is expected to have a 50.6 kWh battery that promises an impressive range of up to 460 km.
Currently, MG offers Comet EV and ZS EV in India.
MG, one of the first automakers to launch an electric vehicle, introduced the Comet for INR 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom) after the success of their ZS EV in 2020.
MG recently reduced the prices of the Comet EV, which is now priced between Rs 6.99 lakh and Rs 9.53 lakh.
The price of the ZS EV has also increased, and now costs from Rs 18.98 lakh to Rs 25.44 lakh.
