Volkswagen Virtus launch highlights: Volkswagen (VW) India launched its new mid-size sedan, Virtus, in two variants, priced between Rs 11.21 lakh and Rs 17.91, on June 9, 2022.
The Virtus shares the powertrain and platform with Skoda Slavia and Taigun and is based on Skoda Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd’s heavily localised MQB A0 IN platform
With nearly 95 percent of the components localized, the VW Virtus will be exported to 25 countries:

Last year Volkswagen sold about 27,000 cars and so far this year it has already produced about 15,000 units in sales.
Volkswagen Virtus engine and transmission
The Volkswagen Virtus will be offered with a choice of two engine options and three transmission options. The Virtus in the Dynamic Line will come with a 1.0-liter TSI engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed AT engine. The Performance line will feature a Virtus with a 1.5-liter TSI four-cylinder petrol engine paired with the popular DSG unit.
The 1.0-liter engine produces 114 hp and delivers 175 Nm of torque, while the more powerful engine delivers 148 hp and 250 Nm of torque.
Volkswagen Virtus colour options
Virtus is available in six exterior color options. These are Wild Cherry Red, Carbon Steel Gray, Rising Blue, Candy White, Reflex Silver and Curcuma Yellow.

The Virtus gets LED-projector headlights, fog lights, red brake calipers, black ORVMs, a roof, and a shark fin antenna. The sedan sits on 16-inch aluminum-alloy wheels and features chrome inserts on the front and rear fenders.
The dimensions of the Virtus are more noticeable than the dimensions of the Vento. The sedan has a length of 4561 mm, a height of 1507 mm and a width of 1752 mm. It also has a large trunk with a capacity of 521 liters.

The Virtus is packed with new age features in a determined attempt to make it attractive to customers looking for a luxury car interior. The interior of the Volkswagen Virtus, depending on the equipment and variants, of course, has a 10-inch main screen, a fully digital display for the driver, wireless phone charging, automatic climate control and ventilated front seats, among other aspects.
