The hatchback sector of the Indian vehicle market is still very important. Many new car purchasers in our country still prefer hatchbacks because of their convenience, economy, and ease of driving. Many carmakers in India are planning to launch new hatchbacks in the near future to keep the audience interested.
Despite the fact that the small car market is shrinking, hatchbacks remain popular in our market, with a few new ones on the way.
Here is our list of the top five upcoming hatchbacks in India
Maruti Alto new generation
Maruti Suzuki is developing a new iteration of the Alto, which will be released later this year. The HEARTECT platform from the Indo-Japanese automaker will most likely underpin the next-generation hatchback. The existing 0.8-litre petrol engine and the 0.8-litre bi-fuel (petrol-CNG) engine will most likely to be upgraded.
Maruti Swift new generation
Suzuki Motor Corporation is currently developing the next-generation Maruti Swift, which is set to make its global debut this year. In India, Maruti Suzuki would likely launch this upgraded hatchback next year. The next edition is likely to have a lot more refined design as well as numerous additional functions. The new version will have the same 1.2L petrol engine as the present variant in India.
C3 Citroen
Last year, Citroen C3 was revealed in India as a "hatchback with a twist," and it will be on sale in the coming months. The forthcoming C3 has an unique interior and exterior design, akin to the C5 Aircross. A 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument panel, and other premium features will be available. The powertrain is unknown, however rumours say that a 1.2-litre petrol engine with manual and automatic transmission options will be available.
EV Tata Altroz
Tata Altroz EV was shown in a near-production form at the 2020 Auto Show, and it is likely to go on sale in India this year. The electric hatchback was expected to have a range of 250 to 300 kilometres, although conjecture claims that it could have a longer range because it would use the same batteries as the MG Nexon EV and Nexon EV max.
Electric Hatchback by MG
According to reports, MG plans to launch some new electric vehicles in India, including a compact electric SUV and an electric hatchback. In India, little is known about MG's upcoming electric hatchback, but we expect it to arrive in the coming years with a very competitive price tag and a long range.
