As the festive season gains momentum in India, the automotive industry is abuzz with a slew of new car launches scheduled for September 2024. Following a busy August, September will see a variety of new models across different segments including SUVs, sedans, and electric vehicles.

Tata Curvv ICE – September 2
On September 2, Tata Motors will introduce the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant of the Curvv coupe SUV. Initially launched earlier this year in both electric and ICE forms, the Curvv ICE will be available with a choice of two engines: a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-liter turbocharged diesel. It will offer both manual and automatic transmission options and is anticipated to be priced competitively within the compact SUV market, similar to its electric version.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS – September 5
Mercedes-Benz will enhance the luxury electric vehicle segment with the debut of the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV on September 5. This high-end model, which first appeared in China, features a dual-tone exterior, a chrome-accented grille, and larger alloy wheels. Inside, it boasts luxury amenities such as rear-seat entertainment screens and exclusive Maybach detailing. Equipped with a 108.4 kWh battery, the EQS Maybach offers an impressive range of about 600 kilometers on a single charge, with dual motors delivering 658 bhp and 950 Nm of torque.

MG Windsor EV – September 11
On September 11, JSW MG Motor India will launch the Windsor EV, a rebranded version of the international Wuling Cloud EV. This new electric vehicle will feature a roomy interior with a panoramic sunroof, LED lighting, and a large touchscreen infotainment system. The rear seats will have a reclining function for added comfort. With a range of up to 460 kilometers on a full charge, the Windsor EV is expected to be priced between ₹17-18 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Nexon CNG
Tata Motors will round off September with the launch of the Nexon CNG, adding another powertrain option to its popular subcompact SUV lineup. Featuring Tata’s dual-cylinder technology for better fuel efficiency, the Nexon CNG will be the first in its class to offer petrol, diesel, electric, and CNG options. It will also come with a turbo petrol-CNG combination and may include an automatic transmission option.

New-Gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire
Following the new-generation Swift, Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the next-gen Dzire sedan. This popular model will receive a complete redesign, a new 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, and options for both manual and AMT transmissions. The new Dzire will also offer a CNG variant, potentially attracting a broader customer base.

Hyundai Alcazar Facelift – September 9
Hyundai will unveil the facelifted Alcazar SUV on September 9. The update includes a refreshed design, new interior upholstery, and additional features like large screens and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). Powered by 1.5-liter turbo petrol and diesel engines, the updated Alcazar will continue to compete with rivals such as the Mahindra XUV700.

These upcoming launches are set to add excitement to the festive season, offering a wide array of options for car buyers in India.
