Tata Punch SUV unveiled, bookings open for Rs 21,000

New Delhi: Tata Motors unveiled the entry-level SUV Punch, which will be available in four trims with manual (MT) and automatic (AMT) transmission options. Bookings have commenced for a token of Rs 21,000 and the price is expected to be revealed by mid-October.

Tata Motors offers 7 color options with Punch. Built on Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) Architecture, the Punch incorporates many industry-pioneering innovations, such as a high stance, high ground clearance (187mm), class-leading comfort, and infotainment system with a connectivity suite.

The AMT variant comes with the TractionPro mode. The Brake Sway Control system detects an unstable tendency during abrupt braking before the ABS system starts to prevent the vehicle from drifting out of the driving lane. Tata Punch has doors that open 90 degrees like Altroz's for easy ingress-egress.

The 1.2L BS6 Revotron engine comes with the latest Dyna-Pro technology and is paired with either an AMT or 5-speed manual transmission. City and economy driving modes, on / off and cruise control come with the engine. The punch has a water wading capacity of 370 mm.
 
The top trim of Punch rides on R16 diamond-cut alloys and features projector-style headlights, LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), signature LED taillights, and SUV design with cladding on doors, wheel arches, and roof rails.

In terms of features, Punch offers automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers, push-button start, adjustable driver's seat, automatic folding ORVM, steering-mounted control, Harman 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and a 7-inch TFT cluster-inch and connected vehicle technology.
