Suzuki Motorcycle India has achieved its highest monthly sales ever, selling 111,512 units in May this year. This marks a 22% increase compared to May 2023, when the company sold 91,316 units.
In the domestic market, Suzuki sold 92,032 units, a 37% jump from the 67,040 units sold in May last year. However, exports decreased by 19.76%, with 19,480 units shipped overseas compared to 24,276 units in May 2023.
The Managing Director of Suzuki Motorcycle India, Kenichi Umeda, expressed his excitement about this milestone, saying, "Achieving record-breaking sales of 111,512 units is significant for us. This success reflects Suzuki Motorcycle India's growing market presence. We deeply appreciate the love and trust of our customers and the commitment of our dealers, business associates, and team members."
The Suzuki Access 125 scooter remains the bestseller, followed by the Burgman Street 125 and Avenis 125. The Suzuki Gixxer 155 and Gixxer 250 known for their reliable performance also contributed significantly to the sales. The V-Strom SX 250, which shares its engine with the Gixxer 250 and is designed for adventure touring, also adds to the sales volume.
Looking ahead, Suzuki is reportedly working on an updated version of the Access 125, expected to be released either by the end of this year or in 2025. While the company hasn't officially confirmed this, the model has been spotted in testing.
In addition to commuter bikes and scooters, Suzuki offers a premium range in India, including the Suzuki Hayabusa, Katana, and the recently launched V-Strom 800DE.
Suzuki Motorcycle India's impressive sales growth highlights its strong market presence and the trust of its customers, ensuring exciting times ahead for the brand.
