Skoda and Volkswagen To launch a new car every six months from 2021

Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited aims to capture 3 percent of the market share in the next two years. To achieve this goal, the group will launch a new product in the country every six months, starting in early 2021. Skoda and Volkswagen presented the Vision IN  and the Taigun concept at the 2020 auto show. While Skoda will launch the production version of the Vision IN, Volkswagen will present the production version of the Taigun SUV. This SUV will compete with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and Nissan Kicks.

Under the India 2.0 strategy, Skoda and Volkswagen will launch the new midsize SUVs in the first half of 2021.

Skoda and Volkswagen will also introduce new midsize sedans in the second half of 2021 or early 2022. This new sedan will replace Skoda Rapid and Volkswagen Vento. Skoda Auto Volkswagen India PVT LTD announced huge investments to achieve high levels of localization and expand the sales and service network. The group is in the process of developing the MQB AO IN platform, which will be compatible with the upcoming SUVs and sedans. This group will help set competitive prices for new models.

The group aims to produce approximately 2 lakh cars by 2022 to meet domestic demand and exports. Skoda Auto Volkswagen India is also in talks with other manufacturers, including MG Motors, about the manufacturing partnership contract.
