Royal Enfield is gearing up to introduce its first bobber motorcycle, inspired by the 'bobber' design trend that has gained popularity with models like the Jawa Perak and the Jawa 42 Bobber. This upcoming model, named the Bobber 350, is based on the Royal Enfield Classic 350 platform and has recently had its design patent revealed online, offering enthusiasts a glimpse into what to expect.
The Royal Enfield Bobber 350 will showcase a distinct design compared to the Royal Enfield Classic 350, focusing on minimalist styling and a more streamlined appearance. One notable change is the removal of the pillion seat, although it will be available as an optional feature. Instead, riders will find a floating seat design, complemented by a revamped subframe at the rear with the fender mounted on the swingarm. To enhance comfort, the motorcycle will feature an ape-style handlebar, ensuring an upright and relaxed seating posture. Additionally, the Bobber 350 will sport white-wall tires, a unique feature exclusive to this model.
The Royal Enfield Bobber 350 will share similarities with the Royal Enfiled Classic 350, including an identical wheelbase, fuel tank capacity, and the renowned 349 cc single-cylinder engine. This engine is expected to deliver 20.2 bhp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. The motorcycle will also incorporate familiar elements like the suspension setup, brake system, wheels, and instrument console from Royal Enfield's other 350 cc models, ensuring a blend of performance and reliability. Safety features such as dual-channel ABS will also be included.
Anticipated to hit the market around September/October 2024, the Royal Enfield Bobber 350 is likely to occupy a unique position between the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 in terms of pricing and positioning. With an expected price range starting from approximately Rs. 1.9 lakh to Rs. 2 lakh (ex-showroom), the Bobber 350 aims to cater to riders seeking a distinctive and characterful riding experience infused with classic styling cues and modern engineering.
