Nissan Previews Bold New Magnite Kuro Edition Ahead of Launch

Black is the new bold, and Nissan is proving that once again. The brand has just teased its upcoming Magnite Kuro Edition, and it’s already turning heads. Designed to appeal to those who love sleek, sporty aesthetics, this edition takes the popular compact SUV and gives it a striking all-black makeover.

This is not Nissan's first Kuro Edition - the nameplate had a debut in 2023 - but now it looks to be returning in a changed form, presumably included in the Magnite facelift range. The teaser now suggests a design that suggests a blend of sophistication and a strong road presence.

Mechanically, the Kuro Edition won’t differ considerably from the standard Nissan Magnite. The same familiar engine options that deliver a reasonable mix of everyday usability with the chance of the odd spirited drive will be available to customers.

  • 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine

    • Power: 71 bhp

    • Torque: 96 Nm

    • Transmission: 5-speed manual or AMT

  • 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine

    • Power: 99 bhp

    • Torque: 152 Nm

    • Transmission: 6-speed manual or CVT

Whether you want a smooth city drive or something with more punch, this edition covers both needs.

Exterior Design: Blacked-Out Brilliance

The Magnite Kuro Edition is expected to follow the silhouette of the top-spec Tekna+ trim, but with several distinct cosmetic enhancements:

  • Glossy black front grille

  • Blacked-out roof rails and ORVMs

  • All-black alloy wheels

  • Dark chrome or black finish on badges and trims

This stealth-inspired styling should appeal to young urban buyers and anyone who prefers a more aggressive, premium look.

Cabin and Features: Premium Touches All Around

Inside, the Kuro Edition is likely to continue the blacked-out theme with refined materials and tech-rich touches:

  • All-black interior and upholstery

  • 360-degree camera for better visibility

  • Wireless charger for smartphones

  • Auto climate control

  • Height-adjustable driver’s seat

  • Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

These features aim to elevate the driving experience while keeping comfort and convenience at the forefront.

Conclusion

Nissan amply targets buyers who want a stylish car with bold looks but also believes in practicality, with the Magnite Kuro Edition. Yes, it wears the same Ubercool mechanicals of the existing Magnite, but the new design elements and premium features will make it unique. As Nissan prepares for the official launch, excitement is building. If priced competitively, the Kuro Edition could be another smart move in the compact SUV race.
