The all-new Saluto 125 retro scooter unveiled by Suzuki

Suzuki successfully introduced the all-new Saluto 125 scooter in the Taipei market. These new scooters are unlike the ones sold by Suzuki in the Indian market with an engine of 125 ccs. The new 125 cc scooters have a unique retro design that found its inspiration from the Lambretta and Vespa scooters. The new Suzuki Saluto has many new features including a small LED headlight with a chrome bezel.

The Saluto, with its flat seat profile and tan saddle, further enhances the retro kind of vibe of the scooter. At the same time, it has a swoopy tail section which gives the scooter a beautiful design. What we particularly like about the Saluto is the way in which the U-shaped LED taillight and the LED indicators are perfectly integrated into the body panel of the scooter. Another feature that we love in the new Suzuki Saluto is the feature of keyless ignition. It also has a knob on the right side that basically opens the seat, ignition, lock and the fuel filler cap.

The Suzuki Saluto 125 is similar to the BS6 compliant Suzuki Access 1251 as it also features an exte
al fuel filler cap. The fuel filler cap has been positioned below the handlebar in the scooter and the fuel tank is positioned right below the floorboard. It is expected to have a large storage space under the seat but it is still not confirmed. The Suzuki Saluto 125 cc has a huge instrument console that gives it a retro look along with chrome bezel and also has a semi-digital unit. The switches on it are oval in shape and these are also similar to the switches on the Vespa scooters.

The Suzuki Saluto 125 cc is expected to be more powerful as compared to the BS6 compliant Access 125 cc. The scooter has been unveiled at the Taipei Motor Show. The Saluto will not be available in India but Suzuki unveiled the BS6 compliant Access 125 recently for sale in the Indian Market. It will be launched soon.

The Suzuki Saluto 125 has been powered by a 124cc, fuel-injected motor that makes 9.4PS and a peak torque of 10Nm. On the other hand, the BS6 compliant Access 125’s engine makes 8.7PS and a peak torque of 10Nm. The frame of the scooter is suspended on the telescopic fork and mono-shock unit. The Braking hardware of the scooter includes a front disc brake and a back drum unit.

The Suzuki Saluto 125 cc has a conventional telescopic fork in the front and the twin springs in the rear. The Saluto has wheels with a dimension of 10 inches. The scooter will be sold in 5 different colors.

It is highly doubtful that Suzuki will sell the Saluto 125 in the Indian market. Ours is a price-conscious market and with the kind of features the scooter has, it will be sold as a premium scooter and hence it may not sell as expected. But, with the availability of the Access 125, it will easily compete with the other scooters of the same segment like the new Yamaha Fascino 125.
