The eleventh generation Honda Civic was recently tested by the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Programme for Southeast Asian countries) and the results are assuring on many levels. The Civic recently became another Honda product to receive a five-star safety rating from the testing organization. In case you forgot, the current generation Honda City sedan also received a five-star safety rating in last year's ASEAN NCAP crash test. The crash-tested ASEAN NCAP sedan was Thailand-spec Civic that was manufactured this year. It scored 29.27 out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category, 46.72 out of 51 in the Child Protection (COP) category, and 19.07 points out of 21 in the Safety Assistive Technology (SATs) category. The model selected for the crash test was equipped with an EL variant + For starters, which has six airbags and other safety features such as electronic stability control, ABS, safety belt reminder, lane departure warning, forward collision warning system, etc.
