After a fairly dry spell in terms of car launches this month, July 2024 brings some respite. The coming days will witness the launch of a new SUV, two premium electric vehicles, a luxury sedan and a luxury hatchback.
Mercedes-Benz EQA
The first launch of the month will take place in the coming week and will be none other than the Mercedes-Benz EQA. Prices for the car, which is the electric version of the GLA, will be revealed on July 8.
It will be offered in a single high-spec variant called the EQA 250+, and will draw power from a 70.5kWh battery paired with a single electric motor that is claimed to offer a range of 560km on a single full charge. While the power of the car is 188bhp and 385Nm of torque.
New-gen BMW 5 Series
The eighth-generation 5 Series was revealed for the Indian market last month and will be launched alongside multiple BMW Group models on July 24. This is the first time BMW will offer the 5 Series with an LWB body, and it will initially only be available in the 530Li M Sport model.
While BMW has not confirmed the specifications, this model is likely to be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine combined with a mild hybrid system. Nissan X-Trail
The Nissan Magnite is finally set to share floor space with its elder sibling, the X-Trail, which is scheduled to launch later this month. The three-row SUV will be offered alongside the Qashqai and Juke in 2022 and will come to India via the CBU route.
Mini Cooper S
Following its global debut in September 2023, Mini will announce pricing for the new Cooper S in India on July 24. The India-spec car, which will arrive in S trim, is powered by a 201-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.
Bookings for the new Cooper S are already underway on the official website. Additionally, customers can choose from five colors: Ocean Wave Green, Sunny Side Yellow, British Racing Green, Chilli Red II and Blazing Blue.
Electric Mini Countryman
The Mini Cooper S and the new BMW 5 Series will be accompanied on July 24 by the second electric car in the Mini range. Called the Countryman Electric, bookings are currently being taken for this car and there are six colors to choose from.
Under the hood, the 2024 Countryman EV will be powered by a 66.45 kWh battery pack paired with a single motor and a dual-motor setup. Mini is yet to announce the specifications of the India-spec car.
In terms of features, the car will come equipped with customisable LED DRL signatures, a circular OLED display, Mini Experience modes, Digital Key Plus, electrically adjustable front seats with massage function for the driver's seat and and a fish-eye in-car camera.
