The Mercedes-AMG E 63 S rolls on Indian soil

The Indian arm of the German automaker, Mercedes-Benz India launched its latest automobile the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4matic in the country. The event took place in the Budh international circuit (BIC) in Greater Noida which was just the right place for the prince of the automobile industry. This is the fourth launch in this country from Mercedes-Benz after the models Maybach S650, new S-Class facelift and the GLS Grand Edition.

The AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ is the top-of-the-line E-Class and can reach from 0-100 kmph in just under 4 seconds! This makes the AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ faster than the AMG GT R (which was recently launched in India). The price of Mercedes-AMG E63S starts from Rs. 1.5 crore.

There have been slight changes in the appearance of this car than the E63 S 4matic, which was previously the most powerful version of the E class. The AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ is a lot similar to the standard E-Class, but AMG has added a sporty look by putting a new front bumper that results in the slightly larger air intake and a sporty exhaust setup at the rear. The wheel arches are a little more than half an inch wider than on the standard car and it features matte-black AMG 20-inch alloy wheels.

The car also features the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system which is a signature of the Mercedes- Benz E class standard. This enables smooth drive even in harsh terrain and edgy surfaces. AMG has also added the "drift" feature in this model. Drift mode is an electromechanically controlled coupling that connects the rear axle to the front axle. The drift mode can easily be activated in the "race" drive program and the rider can take the car on a little drift ride! This mode remains active until the driver tu
s it off.

Talking about the engine power, this four-wheeled drive packs a 4.0-litre V8 engine that uses a twin-scroll technology to improve performance and reduce turbo lag. There's 603 bhp on offer and 850 Nm of peak torque making it the most powerful model of the E class. The powerful engine comes attached to a nine-speed AMG Speed shift dual-clutch transmission.

About the safety issues of the car- the Mercedes-AMG E63S has active brake assist, 7 airbags and carbon ceramic brakes which are part of the optional equipment.

According to Roland Folger- the head of Mercedes-Benz India, they have had the best ever quarter in 2018 with a sale of 4556 units and a growth of 24.8 percent.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been a success in India and the company has already launched 3 products in India in 2018.

AMG celebrated 50th anniversary in 2017 and globally sold 1,33,000 AMG units last year that yielded 33 percent growth. In 2018 the company announced that they will launch 7 new AMG models globally. Mercedes-Benz India has 7 AMG performance centres in the country right now.

This sedan spiced with just the right amount of sport and luxury elements is all set to take the market by a storm in the upcoming months. Advertisement
