Mahindra Secures ₹2,700 Cr Deal to Supply 1,986 Scorpio Pik-Ups to Indian Army!

Mahindra Automotive has secured a ₹2,700 crore contract to supply 1,986 units of the Scorpio Pik-Up to the Indian Armed Forces. This marks a significant milestone in Mahindra’s journey, as the company continues to be a key supplier of rugged and reliable vehicles to the military.

With this deal, Mahindra will now have over 4,000 units of Scorpio Pik-Ups, Scorpio Classic, Scorpio-N, and Bolero Pik-Up 4WDs in service with the armed forces. Additionally, the Indian Army’s Mahindra fleet will exceed 7,000 Scorpio SUVs, reinforcing Mahindra's reputation for durability and reliability.

This announcement comes after the recent induction of 2,978 units of Force Gurkha into the Indian Armed Forces, highlighting the increasing reliance on robust, locally manufactured vehicles.

Mahindra Scorpio Pik-Up: Design and Features

Rugged Yet Stylish Exterior

The upcoming Scorpio N Pik-Up was previously spotted testing in India, showcasing a design inspired by the popular Scorpio-N SUV. The vehicle features:

  • LED headlamps with a projector setup

  • Twin-peak Mahindra grille for a bold front look

  • Muscular flat bonnet for a commanding road presence

  • C-shaped LED DRLs identical to Scorpio-N

Both single-cab and dual-cab models come with steel wheels and a high roll bar to enhance safety in rollover situations.

Feature-Rich Interior

Inside, the Scorpio N Pik-Up shares many elements with the Scorpio-N SUV, including:

  • 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay

  • Steering wheel and AC controls from Scorpio-N

  • Manual transmission with handbrake & front center armrest

  • Heavy-duty materials to withstand rough military use

Powerful Engine and Performance

The Scorpio N Pik-Up is expected to borrow its powertrain from Mahindra’s current lineup, featuring:

  • 2.0L turbo petrol engine

  • 2.2L diesel engine

  • 6-speed manual transmission (standard)

  • 6-speed automatic transmission (optional)
