Lexus India records 14 percent sales growth in H1 2024

Lexus India has reported a 14 percent increase in sales compared to the same period last year, for the first half of 2024. Nevertheless, the company did not provide a specific breakdown of sales for each model or disclose the total sales figures for the first half of 2024.

The ES sedan accounted for 55 percent of total sales as the top-selling model.

The SUV saw a 60 percent growth in comparison to the first six months of 2023.

According to the company, the ES sedan that was assembled locally was the top-selling model in the January-June 2024 period, making up 55 percent of all sales. During the same period last year, Lexus witnessed a 60 percent growth in their lineup of SUVs.

Similarly, Mercedes-Benz and BMW also experienced a 9 percent and 21 percent increase in sales during the first six months, respectively. During this period, Audi saw a 29 percent decrease in sales in the first half of the year due to restrictions in supply. An email that was sent to Lexus India inquiring about specific sales information did not receive a response.

Tanmay Bhattacharya, Executive Vice President of Lexus India, stated that the first six months of the year 2024 were crucial for the company, characterized by progress and higher trust from customers in the brand's clientele.

The Lexus car range in India includes ES sedans, NX, RX, and LX SUVs as well as the LM MPV.
