Kia India Crosses 15 Lakh Units Production Milestone!

Kia India has achieved a remarkable feat, solidifying its stronghold in the Indian automotive market. The company recently announced crossing the significant milestone of 15 lakh units of production at its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. This achievement highlights Kia’s rapid growth and its commitment to the Indian market since beginning operations just a few years ago.

Journey from MoU to Milestone

Kia India’s journey began when the automaker signed an MoU with the Andhra Pradesh government to establish its Anantapur plant. Since then, Kia has made consistent strides in India’s competitive automotive landscape.

  • Location: Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh

  • Manufacturing plant: One of Kia’s most advanced global facilities

  • Start of operations: Production began with the Kia Seltos

The manufacturing excellence at this facility has propelled Kia into becoming one of the fastest-growing car brands in the country.

Kia’s Production Leaders

Leading the numbers in this impressive journey are three key models:

  • Kia Seltos: Over 7,00,668 units produced

  • Kia Sonet: 5,19,064 units produced

  • Kia Carens: 2,41,582 units produced

Currently, Kia India offers four made-in-India models — the Seltos, Sonet, Carens, and Syros — along with three globally imported models: the Carnival, EV6, and the EV9.

Additionally, Kia India has announced the debut of the updated Carens on 8 May, adding even more excitement to its growing portfolio.
