Hyundai India has launched the Knight Edition of its Venue compact SUV. The Knight Edition is only available with both petrol engines and not with the 1.5-liter diesel power unit. Prices for Hyundai Venue Knight Edition range between Rs 10.00 to 13.48 lakhs. The Venue Flux version was revealed few years back, but for the South Korean markets.

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition: what’s new

No mechanical changes made to the Venue Knight version, only cosmetic changes with additional features. On the outside, the Hyundai Venue gets blacked-out elements including the front grille, roof rails, alloy wheels, wing mirrors, and even front and rear skid plates. To make the paint scheme stand out, the company also added brass-colored elements on inserts such as the bumpers, alloy wheels, and roof rails with red front calipers. Logos all over the car are given the 'dark chrome' treatment and the car gets a knight emblem, like the one on the same Creta edition.

The Knight Edition of the Venue is available with four monochrome colors: black, white, grey and red. Also on offer is a dual-tone paint option of red and black.

Inside, the theme continues with all-black upholstery and brass highlights. A dashcam and auto-dimming rearview mirror were new additions to the Venue. The dual-camera dashcam is making its appearance on the Venue again, after being introduced with the N-line version of the Venue. Another feature offered is the auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition: Engine and Gearbox

The Hyundai Venue Knight Edition is offered only on petrol powertrains, without the diesel engine. The Knight Edition is offered with a 5-speed manual gearbox in S (O) and SX variants of the 1.2-liter Kappa engine that produces 83hp and 114Nm.

The more powerful 1-liter turbocharged petrol engine is also available with the Knight Edition theme, in the SX(O) variant only, but with the option of a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DCT. A 1-liter unit produces 120 hp and 172 Nm.

Hyundai Venue Knight Edition: competitors and the new generation

The Hyundai Venue is a compact SUV and competes with the Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 300, Tata Nexon and Maruti Suzuki Brezza. Hyundai recently launched the adventure version of the Alcazar and Creta SUVs. Besides the Venue, the Creta is also offered with the Knight Edition package.

We recently reported that Hyundai will introduce the second-generation Venue in India in 2025 and will be the first Hyundai to come out of its recently acquired Talegaon plant, where the automaker plans to build around 1,50,000 units annually.
