ICOTY 2021 winner: i20Hyundai wins Indian Car of the Year Award, beats Kia Sonet, Mahindra Thar, Honda City

The new Hyundai i20 won the Best Indian Car of the Year Award 2021 (ICOTY 2021) award, beating some popular competitors such as the Kia Sonet, Mahindra Thar, Hyundai Creta, Hyundai Aura, Honda City, Tata Altroz, Kia Ca
ival, and the MG Gloster.

Since its launch in India on November 5, 2020, the new i20 has been one of Hyundai Motor's best-selling cars in India. The luxury hatchback is based on the global "Sensuous Sportiness" design language and boasts a plethora of first-in-class and best-in-class features.

The new Hyundai i20 features a border jewel-patte
grille flanked by headlamps with LED projectors with LED DRL lights. The front has projector fog lights with air curtains. On the back, you'll find the Z-shaped LED taillights with the i20 logo. Features such as a shark fin antenna and 16-inch diamond-cut aluminum wheels are also available.

Inside the new i20 cabin, you'll find bells and whistles like the 10.25-inch HD touch screen infotainment system, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, mood blue lighting, and an electric sunroof.

The best features in the section on the new Hyundai i20 include a digital set with TFT MID technology, a Bose seven-speaker sound system, a wireless charger with a cooling pad, and a front sliding front armrest, while the sector's key features include Bluetooth connectivity for multiple phones, Oxyboost air purification with oxygen and AQI. , Environmental painting, iMT, OTA map updates, hill assist control, emergency stop signal, and TPMS. Additionally, the luxury hatchback's Bluelink connectivity technology provides 50 functions.

Customers get up to three powertrain options: a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine (83hp / 88hp 115 Nm) with a 5-speed MT or IVT automatic transmission, a 1.0-liter Kappa Turbo-GDi petrol engine (120 Bhp, 172 Nm) with 6-speed iMT or DCT 7-speed automatic, U2 CRDi 1.5-liter diesel mill (100 hp 240 Nm) with 6-speed MT iron stand.

The new Hyundai i20 is available in four variants -- Magna, Sportz, Asta, and Asta(O) -- and priced between Rs 6.80 lakh and Rs 11.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Tata Altroz, Toyota Glanza, Volkswagen Polo, and the Honda Jazz.
