Honda launches Grazia 125 BS-VI scooter with starting price at Rs 73,336

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) launched its Honda Grazia 125 BSVI city scooter on Wednesday with a price starting at Rs 73,336 (ex-Gurugram showroom). The 125cc engine powered scooter comes with an instrument display that provides information such as vacuum distance, average fuel efficiency, and real-time fuel efficiency, along with the idle-stop system and position indicator side with engine shutdown, HMSI said in a statement.

"With a significant change in form, style, and technology, the new HondaGrazia 125 BSVI will provide a whole new mobility experience for trendsetting customers in a stylish way," said HMSI Director of Sales and Marketing Yadvinder Singh.

The Grazia 125 comes equipped with Combi Brake System with equalizer technology that distributes braking force proportionally between the front and rear wheels simultaneously by pressing only the left stick, reducing braking distance and improving balance compared to conventional braking, HMSI said.

What's new!!

    • The engine uses the ACG starter motor. This means that there will be no metallic noise as you begin to deliver a sophisticated and quiet start. Since the engine is from the Activa 125, you also get a top start switch.

    • At the rear, you get a 3-step adjustable suspension. The adjustability for preload, but it's better than no adjustability.

The Honda Grazia BS6 will be like an older brother to the Honda Activa 125 BS6. Currently, the BS4 version of the Activa 125 is placed below the Grazia. The Honda Grazia was launched in the year 2017. This bike was designed as a peppy scooter that has the class of an Activa and the style of a Dio. This scooter was the perfect buy for the people who wanted a 125cc scooter without the Activa badge. Now for the BS6 update, this scooter will get everything that the Activa 125 has got in its BS6 update. What additional it gets is something that we have mentioned ahead.

Honda Grazia Price

Right now the vehicle is available with 3 variants where the mid variant comes with drum brakes and alloy wheels and the top variant comes with disc brake at the front. The prices range from Rs Rs. 76,656 to Rs. 81,597. These might see an increase of Rs 10,000 which is the trend that we have been seen in the industry. The vehicle will be in the slowly populating segment of 125cc. This segment has seen a lot of launches under the name of BS6 updates and has become the talking point of the Industry. Currently, the Honda Activa 125 BS6, Yamaha Fascino 125 and Ray ZR 125 are the only scooters which have announced BS6 update. There are old players like the TVS Ntorq and the Aprilla SR 125 which are also capable scooters in the market.

Honda Grazia Specifications

The Honda Grazia will firstly get a Fuel injection system. This will be the basic necessity to make it BS6 compliant. Along with this, there will also be an introduction to ACG. The use of this type of starter will reduce the weight and make the vehicle silent while starting up. Along with the BS6 emission norms overall there will be a drop in the exhaust note too. Now, these two systems are the requirement for the Start-Stop system. So we will see this too on the vehicle.

Honda Grazia Features and Safety

The Honda Grazia BS6 comes with an all-new sportier bodywork with sharper LED headlamps, LED DRL on the handlebar cowl, and a redesigned, "Jet-inspired" tail lamp. The scooter gets a fully digital instrument cluster which shows the tachometer readings, distance-to-empty, realtime, and average mileage figures. There’s also a 3-step eco speed indicator apart from the regular tell-tale lights. For added convenience, it features an exte
al fuel filler cap and an apron-mounted storage compartment. Other notable features include a side-stand engine kill function and an Idling Stop System which tu
s off the engine while idling for a while in traffic. This helps in conserving fuel. It also gets a silent starter like the Honda Activa 125.

With the implementation of the BS6 update on this vehicle, we might see some drop in power but it won’t be much. What we speculate that the power to weight ratio might change because the traditional starter motor is now replaced with ACG starter. Now we also expect Honda to make some changes in the body graphics of this vehicle. The leather on the seat will also see some change. In terms of features, the scooter will get an exte
al fuel filler lid. Along with this, there will be a USB charging socket that will be provided on the scooter. The mounting points will have a better finish. Overall we expect the scooter to improve its quality.
